Paragliding![]() Paragliding © IW Tourism Developed from hang-gliding and free fall parachuting, paragliding is a wonderful form of outdoor adrenalin experience and one of the best places in the world to start paragliding is on the Isle of Wight. The Island is famous for an intense flying experience, escaping the worst effects of low pressure meaning there are more flying days. The Butterfly Paragliding School based in Chale on the west coast of the Island, is an established school with an enviable safety record. They have some of the best training, weather conditions and sites set in a unique and relaxed environment. The school is also very well equipped, there are friendly instructors, a clubhouse, shop and a very warm welcome. A full day includes briefings, equipment, transport and paragliding training as appropriate on the day. Butterfly guarantee to get you off the ground, either flying solo or tandem with an experienced instructor to guide you. Prices start from £150 per person for one day on a weekend, and £125 per person for one week day.
