Opening times: 1 April - 31 October 2011, 10am to 4pm, close Saturdays Once the grandest and most striking house on the Isle of Wight, Appuldurcombe's 18th century baroque elegance is still notable today in the partly restored building. Admire the delightful east front and stroll peaceful through Capability Brown's idyllic ornamental 11 acres of grounds. Treat yourself in our well stocked and attractive souvenir shop. Our Historic Exhibition is over the shop. A perfect place for a picnic. Our Owl and Falconry Centre offers flying displays daily (closing at 5pm during the season and 3pm off season - October, February, March and April) with birds of prey from around the world. New for 2005 - Indoor Show. (shows at 11am and 1pm each day). Situated on the South of the Island, just 2 miles from the coast at both Ventnor and Shanklin. Approach is along a half mile private drive from the road. It is a pleasant walk over the fields from Godshill. |
