Wander through this tranquil setting, take time just to sit, look and listen. You are in a magical world of natural beauty, a rich haven of rare plants, woodland, wildlife and enchanting waterfalls.

The story of the 'Chine' from its geology and history, the Victorian Experience, ships, shipwrecks and smuggling, World War II and Commando Training camp and of course the superb scenery, will interest all age groups.

At the end of the Chine you will find the Fisherman's Cottage, a family pub situated on the beach.

The exhibition "The Island - Then and Now" introduced in 2003, is a pictorial history of the Isle of Wight since time begain, and feature a new section called "D-Day 60th Anniversary Special".

There is no car parking in the Chine, although parking is available nearby at Vernon Meadow car park in the Old Village (PO37 6QT) or along Shanklin Esplanade (PO37 6BH).
