Crab Inn - High Street, Shanklin Old VillageSavour the historic atmosphere of Shanklin's old coaching inn, which dates from the 1820's. Situated at the top of the famous chine, this beautiful thatched pub is one of the most photographed in Britain. The friendly attractive exterior is echoed inside, where families are made especially welcome. It's also close to two popular long distance walking trails - the coastal path and the Worsley Trail, which makes it the ideal refreshment stop for walkers. Fishermans Cottage - Esplanade, ShanklinBeautifully situated right on Appley beach, the thatched cottage was built in 1817 by Shanklin's first operator of covered 'bathing machines'. Inside the low-beamed bar, the pub's history is recorded in the period pictures that line the walls. The simple menu includes sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, and popular favourites like battered cod, and jumbo sausage hot dogs.

Henry 8th's Kitchen - Shanklin Old VillageThatched restaurant situated in the heart of picturesque Shanklin Old Village. Full a la carte menu, specialising in steaks and grills. Lovely enclosed garden overlooking Chine Hollow. Open seven days a week during the summer season. Parties catered for in banqueting hall. Children welcome, although we regret that no under 5-year olds allowed in the evening restaurant. Vegetarian menu. Parking.

Steamer Inn - Esplanade, ShanklinIn prime position on Shanklin seafront, the steamer inn has a delightful nautical atmosphere which takes you back to the days when paddle steamers called at the magnificent Victorian pier, which was sadly lost in the great storm of 1987. Spacious bars offer friendly service, panoramic sea views, excellent food, drink and live evening entertainment. Vegetarian menu.
